Root canal treatment, also known as endodontic therapy, is a dental procedure designed to save a severely infected or damaged tooth. When the pulp inside a tooth becomes infected or inflamed due to deep decay, a cracked tooth, or repeated dental procedures, it can cause intense pain and lead to serious complications if left untreated. The procedure involves removing the infected or damaged pulp tissue, cleaning and disinfecting the inside of the tooth, and then filling and sealing it to prevent further infection.
